Which colored wires connect to which pins on VFD?
We recently had an user who disassembled VFD cable in order to free up an expansion slot which is required to route VFD cable.?The user requested an instruction to re-assemble VFD cable.?The following instruction applies to users with black VFD cable only.?If you have a white VFD cable, you may search this forum.
- View your VFD from its rear.? You will find exactly 13 pins with 1 pin missing.
- For this instruction, you should assign numbers to each pin.? Begin with the top left pin as 1.? The top right pin is 2.? End with the bottom right pin as 14.?
- You should notice that pin 3 is missing.? This is normal.? It is to prevent wrong connection.
- Colors of wires are as following; 14-White 13-Gray 12-Black 11-Blue 10-Green 9-Yellow 8-Orange 7-Red 6-Brown 5-Black 4-Black (Heatshrinked) 3-No Pin 2-Red 1-Black
- Note that? 1, 2, and 5 connect to the power connector of VFD cable.?
- Currently, we are doing everything we can to expedite availability of USB version of VFDs.? We had to withdraw our previous version due to its limited features.? Parallel version of VFD does have its drawback of ugliness.? However, parallel version of VFD offers unlimited possibilities and features.
